Psychotherapy and the various psychological, behavioral, hypnotic, biofeedback, neurofeedback, and neuromodulation services utilized to treat mental, emotional, interpersonal, and physical problems involve various lengths of treatment. In contrast to a medical intervention that may involve a surgical procedure or a series of injections that can be specified, one's response to the various forms of behavioral interventions depends on many factors including the duration of the symptom, the presence of comorbid conditions, and the overall complexity of the problem. Consequently, it is difficult to predict the exact number of sessions necessary for resolve of specific presenting problems.
As a fee-for-service (self-pay) client, you are free to be seen for as long as you feel necessary and to the extent that you feel treatment continues to benefit you. Your fee for each session will remain the same unless otherwise specified and you can estimate the total cost of the service by multiplying this fee by the number of sessions you wish to attend. If there are limits to the number of sessions you will be able to attend, please inform me of this as early as possible and I will inform you of what amount of improvement is reasonable to expect given the number of session you specify. This will also allow us to optimally focus the treatment to achieve your prioritized goal to the extent possible.
If you are interested in receiving additional services beyond the individual psychotherapy sessions you have been receiving, we will discuss any additional fees associated with these procedures or services, and the related charges will only be assessed with your consent.
